I have a humming noise coming from the right front of my car. The frequency of the hum depends on the speed. I can also "feel" the hum through my steering wheel. Is it the wheel bearing or could it be somehting else?

Likely, you are right, but also check your brake rotors/pads. This is less likely but worth a look. If the hum is a constant at most any speed, it is the bearings.

The hum is constant in its presence but not in it the frequency and volume of the sound. The faster I go, the louder the hum. Also, the hum's frequency also seems to be proportional to speed.

The brakes? What am I looking for in the brakes?

And if it is the bearings, how big of a job is this for DIY?

if its more of a ground sound probably bearings hum check inside rotors one time heard humms which sounded like coming from front rotor but it was from back the e-brake was grinding on rotor.

It sounds a lot like road/tire noise, but not coming from the tire.
