| Stereo I am getting ready to replace the stock stereo and speakers in my 1984 325e. (I beleive I have the basic AM/FM casette - I don't have the raised speaker boxes on the back dash or tweeters in A pillar). I searched through these forums and looked at the technical article on Pelican, but am still a little confused.
I keep reading about a common speaker ground and a "fader" on the dash. I don't see a fader on my dash that is seperate from my head unit (the head unit has an "audio" buttom that scrolls through "Base", "Trebble", "Balance" - Left/Right and "Fade" - Front/Back)
My question is (before I start pulling things out) is will I need to run new wire (crutchfiled did not indicate such) or will I be able to just clip off the OEM ends and attached the new speaker connections? Also, I purchased 5 1/4 for the front and 6 1/2 for the rear. Crutchfiled indicated the rear will require new mounting holes to be drilled (true???) These forums indicated no.
Thanks in advance. |
