Stationary Vehicle = Ruined Tires?

My '90 E30 has been stationary from late spring until now as I have been having a variety of issues.

I am prepping the car for winter storage and took her out for a spin. It's clear that all the time in one spot has affected the tires; the ride is "wobbly". Is it too late to over inflate them - in other words could they be shot by spending too much time in one spot?

If they were flat or really low on air you could have broken a steel belt in the tire... If that happened you would notice a wobble especially over 40 mph. NEVER drive a tire with a broken belt! I would get it checked out just to be safe...

Happened to me once on my Miata when it was in storage 2 winters ago had to buy a new tire to fix the problem.

I recommend rocking the tires at least once every 2 weeks to prevent any flat spots or broken belts in your tires.
Also keep up on the air pressure I go to 40 psi now (while it's still 50' out) for storage to prevent the tries from going flat, Remember cold air molecules condense so a tire with 25psi at 65' will look like a tire with 15psi @ 0'... OF course if your going to store in a heated garage disregard adding air to the tire...
That's what I did last winter with the Mazda and the tires were in great shape for the spring! I'm going to do it again this winter too.

Good Luck!

I pumped the tires up to the correct pressures; several hours of driving and the ride smoothed right out.

Thanks for the input!
