Starting problems!....

ok i have a 1987 325 and my car starts every time, but it does not start normal all the time i mean when i start it, it usually starts but does not go over 1k RPM and idles at about 750 rpm... so i have to restart it like 2-5 time to get it to go over 1k because if i pedal to the meddle it climbs slow... but if i start it right and the arrow goes over 1k and idles at about 1.5 than it drive normal when it starts lame it barelly accelerates ANY HELP!? sorry for the bad grammar...

Dirt/water in the fuel maybe?

Maybe, how long since the fuel filter was changed? Has the ignition system been serviced?

Throw some seafoam in the gas tank and it will cleanout any water, deposits, carbon, etc... And change the gas filter..

I have one question about the fuel filter, where is it on the 318i's? I don't have a manual and am just learning about Bimmers. Sorry to hi-jack the post for a second,

What shouls the e30 idle at ? mine starts and drives fine but my idle is about 750

650-750 rpm idle is fine.
