Stalling

My 91 318i stalls when idling in N or when i downshift with low RPM's into 1st. When its running 10mph & up....its smooth as silk...lots of power. But when i come to a red light it stalls.

ICV. Nuff said.

Actually check your throttle position switch first, if this isn't working correctly your ICV will never work because if computer can't tell if the throttle is closed it won't use the ICV.

Thanks guys....but this is all Greek to me. This is my first BMW, and i am just learning as i go. I am well versed on DIY repairs (Land Rover).....just need to point me in the right direction on this BMW stuff.

i agree with this though, had this problem with my 325ES just last week

Found my problem this weekend....cracked hose from the intake bellow leading into the ICV. Did a quick hose swap with a pice of scape i had...and problem solved. But my stalling issue is gone. Need to order new hoses to do it right.
