Ok so im trying to figure out why my SRS light is on. What causes it to blink once the engine is started, and then it stops blinking and stays on. Anyone know why?

what happens is that after a while it will just turn on so that it reminds you that you need to have your airbags checked.

Are you retarded? NO. This is NOT true.
The light turns on when you start the car becuase it runs a self diagnostic, but if everything is good the light turns off. My car has never had the airbag light come on to "remind me to get them checked". Some places recommend getting them inspected at certain intervals but the light will not come on just to remind you.
Ya places that have SAFETY INSPECTIONS, such as the east coast require the airbag system to be checked every year, they check over the WHOLE vehicle for safety stuff, like seatbelts, SRS systems, tire tread amount, brakes, lights, windshield, bumpers and their condition, lug nuts for wheels, body parts for rust and corrosion, tightness of various other types of fasteners, seats, automatic seatbelt tensioners if the vehicle has them, etc. I dont have to worry about those here, UNLESS if Im trying to get a title for an untitled vehicle from the previous idiot that owned it and did me a WONDERFUL favour of LOSING the title. ANYWAY onto the SRS system on my car. If the light does not illuminate for a few seconds like its SPOSED to, and instead just flashes like it does, does that mean the SRS control module is dead?
Or, there's a connector in the panel underneath the steering wheel, on the left side. it's for the srs system. unplug it. you won't have fixed anything, but at least the light will stop driving you nuts for the time being.
Ok cool, thanks. What does this connector do? And it wont set off the airbag if I disconnect it, will it? Coz if that goes, there goes an otherwise perfect steering wheel.
Nope. Everything I've read about it said it won't trigger your airbag upon removing it.
Sweet. So if thats the main harness for it, could I even pull that SRS module out if I wanted to? because im planning on doing an SRS deleat on it, and possibly putting in an older 3 series steering wheel that has the triangle shaped centre part and 3 spokes.
I was actually going to suggest that. Tons of guys throw in old M 3 spoke steering wheels. Check your local laws before you do cause different places have different rules on it. I personally believe in keeping the airbags (but I've been in an accident with deployment).

I personally hate airbags. Ive seen them go off from 15 feet away, and felt the shockwave that far away. After that, ive always hated them, and they scare the crap out of me. And thats what I was thinking was getting a M spec 3 spoke steering wheel. I got the SRS module out. took half hour for the whole thing. Question. theres 3 connectors on it. 1 is a 5 pin, the other is a 4 pin and theres 1 2 pin. The 5 pin has colours of yellow, black grey, purple gray, red white, and blue/black. The 4 pin is red/white, yellow/white, red/blue, and blue/yellow. the 2 pin is blue/grey, and brown/grey. What do these 3 connectors do?
So, I tested the SRS module the way it told me to on alldata. pretty much you test pin 1 and pin 3 on the 4 pin connector on the module that goes to the front impact sensors, and put the negative on the body of the SRS module coz thats its ground. It is sposed to have 9.5-10.5kohms for continuity there. It shows an open in both channels for both sensors, which means my assumptions of the module being fried were correct, the module is definately fried, and that is why it does not flash codes at me, and just flashes the light. So SRS deleat, here we go!
