| Sputter when cruising at speed... So this is a little hard to explain, so just bear with me....
My car drives fine with no hesitation or sputtering at all when I'm either on the gas or off the gas.......the idle is, for the most part, pretty smooth. Where I'm seeing a little "sputter" is when I'm cruising at speed, I usually notice it in 3rd or 4th gear going around 35-40 (it happens in all gears but 35 is the speed limit around these parts)...It happens when I'm barely on the gas....barely enough gas to maintain the speed, that's when the "sputtering" kicks in.
Now to describe the sputter.....It's so subtle I'm pretty sure you would just think it's road conditions, but I know my car better then that....and I'm pretty sure it some sort of "something" with the car. Again, it's hard to explain....it's not a huge hesitation but just enough for me to notice. Also, it's pretty random....it's always there but it's "rhythm" is pretty random. But when I give it just a little gas, the sputter disappears....or when I let off the gas the sputter disappears again...
I got an inspection II less then 8,000 miles ago. New plug wires, new intake boot.....
any idea's??
She's an '89 325i convertible...
Thanks!
