I just bought 2 cv axle boot kits, 2 front control arms, 2 ball joints, 2 tiesrods and two bushings for the front. I know I'm going to need a pickle fork. Is there anyone who's done this work before that could tell me what else I'll need or about how long this will take?

I wish i did. I'm going to need that for the bushings right? The book said that if you don't have one to use some type of special grease that dries after a few minutes allowing you to get it in.
i dont know about that grease, but yea you need one for the ball joints and bushings, they may make a tool for the ball joints but a press would be easier

you can use WD40 for the bushing on the end of the controll arm, and just slide it on and it dries, or stuff bmw sells but wd40 is cheaper. and i just bought new controll arms instead of ball joints 110$ for a pair with bushings. its not that hard, just some socket extensions, the pickle fork like you said, and a hammer. and then you will need an alinment. have fun

cut the rubber and used a punch and bent the sides over little by little and then it just popped off. i was gona use a press but i didn't feel like driving another 30 min there and back to my dads office. and the other little guy that sits arround the contorll arm you can be verry gentle with a wheel grinder or a cutting wheel of some sort.
