I have had my 325ic sitting up for about two weeks ...when I started it the other day it took longer to start (three or four seconds cranking) than usual and I smelled gas just after it started ........ later, the same day, after it sat for about 2 hours, the same thing happened ...about three or four seconds cranking and a gas smell as soon as it started....any idea what could be the cause?
check out your fuel filter and / or fuel lines first. my thinking is that the extra time spent turning over is the lines taking more time to build pressure because of a leak somewhere, which would also attribute to your gas smell.
Take a look at the fuel lines under hood and the vacumn line to fuel pressure regulator. The rubber on these fuel lines gets old and will after a long time crack, I had a leak just aft of drivers door and found a small crack in molded hose uo and under her and near fuel tank.
