hi everyone. i have a 1987 325is bmw. ive had it for like a year now. its been running good up till like this past winter and up to now. it starts up fine but its got like no acceleration at all so i did this to it. i changed the cap, rotor, mass airflow meter. timing belt, fuel filter, plugs, wires, coil, and thats about it. at it still runs terrible. now im looking to change the main computer but i dont know bc its alot of money. can someone plz tell me what else it might be.
I'm assuming you have replaced the air filter. If you havent, GO BUY ONE! you also might want to dump some fuel injector cleaner and other stuff through your engine. The computer shouldnt have much to do with your acceleration. If you put anything aftermarket on it (specifically the ignition wires/coils) you may want to switch back to OEM.
More specific information would be helpful, What RPM's / gear does it slow in, you could need a new clutch if its a manual, or possibly some transmission components.
Replace the air filter...if you havent, PRONTO. That'll suck your horsepower dry.

Make sure you check the intake bellows, those can crack pretty easily. My was bad and when the engine was running i would pry mine aaprt and the car would die. When you accelerate the engine shifts around so it could be pullin the intake bellows apart. Just my .02 cents

well i have ran alot of cleaners into my car like the injectors and corbon cleaner. the air filter is brand new. i just have one clue what it is. like the car had terrible acceleration all the time in every gear. and even if not in gear the rpms go up very slow. help plz
can i be the o2 senser. but im not sure if it is bc i took it out and ran my car and it still ran lke shit. or would it work if i was to buy a new one. and do they like reset the computer if you do
Yea if u took out the oxygen sensor and it ran like crap it should have. All the Oxygen sensor does is reads teh amount of oxygen in the system and it adjusts the fuel ratios accordingly. You can try buying a new Oxygen sensor, it might help, I just got one and it helped the car idle better. I think they are like 70 dollars. Did Check the Intake bellows yet?
