i have a manual 1987 325is and it seems to be shifting kinda hard compared to my friends 88' 325i. it has been doing it ever since i got the car but i never worried about it until i drove her car wich shifts as smooth as butter compared to mine. both cars are stock. the shifter feels like it gets hung up or something. i also noticed it gets worse in cold weather... at least until the car warms up. could it be tranny fluid????
have you checked the tranny fluid? also, if you can do it, check the synchros, if they were run low on oil at one point or another, there could be some damage to them.
