| 1984 318i, 5 spd manual
Nearing my house, I noticed all of a sudden that it was harder than usual to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. I force it in and it seems to have worked. Shifting resumed to almost normal, with just a bit more difficulty shifting into the other gears.
I park (on reverse) and turn off the car. I try mock-shifting into all of the gears with no problem.
I start the car and shift to 1st. I get a loud grinding noise and can't shift to any of the other gears. I turn off the car.
I place my car into 1st and turn on the engine (with my foot on the clutch). It's ok there but I can't shift to any other gears as they seem to be blocked.
Does anyone have any idea what might be happening? What could be causing this? Thanks y'all in advance! |
