i have an 82 320i and i want to replace the bushings and someother stuff on my shift tower. but i cant figure out how to get he console out. there are 5 screws, i think, and a large bolt going through the middle which does not have a head on it, meaning allen, hex, screw...etc. how do i get this bolt out, and get the console out?

ok ill try to take some tonight
and i posted this on another forum and a guy told me i would have to drop the exhaust and drive shaft....true or false?

thats wut i was thinking.......it didnt make sense to me that youd have to drop the driveshaft/exhaust to get into the console...witch inturn means installing/removingthe stereo......lol
