Seats in an e30

I'm buying some leather recaros from an old 4 door e30, but my car is a 2 door. Will the seats fit the same seat rails? Also, one of the feet on one of the seats (rhyme tyme!) is sort of stripped out. I dunno, rusted a bigger hole than the bolt kind of. Somehow to repair that? I'm not sure how, but I mean I -know- it has to be able to be done. If someone could help me, that'd be fabulious.

I can only answer 1 of your questions, and guess at the other.
I would guess that the seats will fit the rails. As far as how well they'll orient in the cabin, I don't know.

One of my seat posts rusted out as well. You might check - mine actually rusted from the INSIDE out on the drivers side front right. To "TEMPORARILY" fix the problem, I cleaned up all of the surrounding rust. and then took a stainless carriage bolt and 2 LARGE heavy washers and put them on the bottom side of the car to spread the stress out a bit. I then sprayed rust proofing goop all over it. Someday, I may have it just welded up as it should be, but this solution was cheap and easy....

holy shit you're a genius. Haha, I would have never thought of that. But you think the seats will fit on the rails? That would suck if they didn't.

I can only guess at the rails. The easiest way to find out is to pull one of your seats and measure them. Then get the measurements from the recaros and see. Again, if they came out of a Bimmer, I would GUESS that they would fit.

By the way. Don't your new seats come with rails? if so, make sure you measure the studs in the floor, not the seat connections.....
