rubbing alcohol in your gas tank ?

someone from an emissions testing facility told me using 91% rubbing alcohol from the drugstore would clean out your emission and help you pass. any thougths/comments ? would it work the same as injector or carb cleaner ? they said 1 bottle per tank and warned to not do it too many times as it might dry out rubber parts ? thanks.
