Hi there, me again. I am interested in stripping out my back seats and basically everything behind my two seats and lining all the showing metal with the same material that is in the trunk(some sorta black thin carpeting that wont make my car look so shady), anyways...I would like to cage my car and was wondering if this process was really that hard. Where could I possibly get a cage that I dont have to weld myself.

First off, my friends just got in a crazy accident and flipped their car, both of em got really hurt, and 2, I am gonna start goingon the track and such, and if I take the back seats out(I would strip the back so that I could get bolt in harnesses instead of harnesses that buckle into the seats) I dont want it to look all shady and stuff, but dont worry about it, I already found a good site with good cages.

Your rediculous. First off they flipped their car because they are dumbasses or its a truck. Second a roll cage will do nothing for you in a roll unless its a convertable but its not. Roll cages are for impacts. And just because your going to the track doesnt mean anything. First off, your how old? 16 17? No matter what you say your not that good of a driver, your cars not fast, and most importantly your car doesnt even have enough traction to flip over if it wanted to.
What youll be doing is a waste of time and money unless you just want to have a car that looks like a solo 1 car. And btw with all the stuff your talking about weight reduction, a roll cage is quite a bit over 100 lbs

yo fox, I understand all that, just some of the roads I drive on can be a bit sketchy if you've ever seen em. I know my car isnt fast, and yes I am actually a good driver, though you might htink I am some punk 17 year old, I do know my shit. I got nothing against you I just think you should ask before tryin to tell me what I am capable of doin. I know the cage wont make me faster, but it would give me some more confidence in driving. The other reason why I am stripping stuff out of the back is so that I dont have to drive my lazy ass friends around.

No you got me wrong. Im not saying you dont know how to drive and your a punk ass 17 year old. Im just saying you dont have enough time behind the wheel. Thats all getting good at driving is. Just spending pure time behind the wheel. I was just stating that you didnt need it.

Fox is right. Putting a roll cage in your car is not only silly, it will also make you look like the biggest poser.

If the roads are sketchy and you dont have confidence in your skills, and you think you are ganna roll your car, maybe you should rethink your strategy about this whole thing. Not dissing but your basically saying you know one day your going to flip your ride.
I hear all you there. My bad to Fox, I gots no shit with you ::shakes your hand::. . I have confidence in driving and all, Im just sayin for the track. I havent tracked once before, but my dad does a lot(25+ years, he's an instructor for SCCA), and he is gonna start to drive my car also, and he was thinking that is wasnt the best but not the worste idea. I guess yeah it make me look like a poser, and I hate posers, so the idea of a roll cage is out, but I want 4 point harnesses just cuz I really like the feel and dont like slidin around in my seat, and neither does my dad. And I dont wanna get the 4 point harnesses that clip into the seat belts which is why I wanted to get the cage, cuz it just loops or can bolt right in. And the cage I found wasnt that expensive(220$, I dont think its expensive, or is it? just for the rear).

4 points are good i agree. I like them myself However they SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK for daily driving. You have to keep your normal seat belt in for daily driving. I mean sure getting it on and off is kinda a pain after a while, but the real horrible thing is you are Locked into the seat. You cant reach foward or look behind you or anything. A lot of people install a harness and then throw away or sell their seat belt assembly and end up regretting it. Just keep the seat belt in and youll see what i mean
