Rims

Has anyone ever put 18inch rims on a e30???? I have a 1991 e30 318is and found some
mr7's with 30 profile prada tires.....It will be like riding a skate board, but I just want to know if anyone has done it. PM me your info..I am going a head with it.

thats alot of rim for an E30. I wouldn't any bigger than 17, personnaly 16 is the limit for me on E30. The more wheel you add, the more unsprung weight you have and the slower you will be and the worse you will handle.

But if all you car about is looks then do what you think looks best

18's on an e30 would look huge... the perfect size in my opinion would be 16's. Your car ur decision though.

18's on an e30 and on a 318is no less, too much wheel. If you do decide to go 18", a 30 series tire is too low a profile.

16 is big enough... any bigger and you lose the "sporty" look.

you have to go 205/35/18 if you want to use 18's, assuming you can find that tire.

but that tire is so thin that hitting a bump there is so little cushion bending a rim is a possibility.

i run 215/40/17s and even those are really too-low of a profile.

if you want to run 18's you'll have to go a size larger in diameter then was intended for the vehicle, in which case your mph will be off.

16's are a good wheel for the vehicle, although 17's do look pretty trick as long as you are extra careful in parking lots etc since they basically almost touch the pavement.

I have tried 205x35 on 18" wheels on my e30 and no rubbing at all, even with eibach lowering springs. It didn't look too bad, but the only problem is that it rides like a tank and you can feel every pebble on the road. I am now running 215x40x17 and the ride is much more sensible.
