Hello there.

Im new to these forums, have just bought myself a D reg 318i E30 and it seems fine, apart from there was an electrical problem (which I knew about) where one circuit kept blowing fuses.

This was (fuse 10 I think?) the instruments & reversing lights circuit.

Got my multimeter out, and found out that an intermittent short occurs when I fiddle with the gearbox (ie put it in reverse) sometimes it works tho!

Is there a common fault on these cars that may cause a problem here?

Whereabouts is the reverse light switch situated?

Also, any links to good cheap BMW parts places around?

Many many thanks

Liam

I get most of my parts from Bavarian Auto, they have quick delivery and decent prices. I don't know what to do about the fuse problem, I'd just take it to a mechanic and ask them to look at it (not fix it) it might cost like $15 to have them look and tell you but at least you'll know.

Nice, angrybots. That is what this forum is all about.

Hope you stick around long enough for me to have some random issue that you can post a link of how to fix it perfectly!
