Replacing Antenna Seal - BMW Forum

Hi. I'm new here, but have a 1990 BMW 325i cabriolet where the antenna seal finally gave up its last breath. I have a new seal, but no clue how to remove the bottom of the old seal and install the new one.

I'd really appreciate some help. I realize that this is probably an incredibly easy thing to do, and I ought to know how to do it, but rather than break something in the process, I figured it was better to ask more knowledgeable head than mine. Thanks.

make sure the antenna is retracted, then remove the antenna assembly. there are only a few bolts and wires to remove, so a few minutes and the job is done. then pop the old seal out, and the new on goes in from the top. its a little tough to seat completely.

Thanks. Got the seal in 90%. That last 10% just isn't happening. I guess I just have to keep pushing. Appreciate the help.

Mix up some car wash soap like you were going to wash your car then get the seal wet with the soapy water. Then just push it the rest of the way in and when you are done wash your car with the rest of the soapy water B)
