has anyone replaced their airbox with a cone on a 91 318ic because i took apart my box and i tried attaching a cone at the end where the mass airflow sensor is but the outlet where it would be attached is square.... Is there anyway to swap the airbox with an intake cone?
is the adapter bmw specific or can i pick this up at autozone or something? I'm guessing it's gonna be bmw specific but you never know. Has anyone else gotten it and where did you get it?
well on top of that you can do that for the time being in order to see how it will run, and use that in the meantime you can find a suitable replacement.
it is ghetto, i'll be the first to admit, but it works

Two wheels or Four, I'm happy as long as the throttle is pinned.
I heard that putting a cone on an e30 was more or less a waste of time...is that just scuttlebutt? It's something I have considered as well for mine, but haven't made a move to initiate anything yet.

... what is with people putting Cones on? Unless you just any kinda heatshield you just took you nice stock CAI system and put it into hot air from the engine compartment

Wow, I just read the rest of the ad for that shield. That guy is rather...um...confident about himself and his product.

I would have to agree that unless you are running a heat shield that a cone filter is rather useless. Although you will be bringing slightly more air into your engine, it will be hot from the engine bay.
i just installed it today with no heat shied but i ran it down to where the stock box sucks air from and its far enough from the engine that in my opinion a heat shield isn't needed.......well for the time being, i'll put one on eventually but for the time being i don't think it's getting much hot air from the engine. It made my exhaust have more throat to it; sounds so much better. I can just see the criticism pouring in from this but it's whatever.
