Radio installation

Hey was about to install a new radio into my 85 318i ..... then i reallized that none of the wires that are in the factaory radio are labeled ..... this is making it quite difficult for me .... if any1 has the colors matched with wut they are for that would be great .... thanks in advance.

i know i didn't have much of a problem at all installing my cd player & i didn't have to look up the wires. i believe that was because the description of the wire is for is imprinted on the stereo itself where each wire plugs in... i think i remember seeing that on the OEM deck... take a look

this may help, but i think its from a later e30 so there's a chance some may colors may be different.

White – Antenna
Red/Grey – dimmer
Purple/Grey – ACC
Red/Green – Constant
Ground – Brown
Left pos - Yellow
Left neg - Yellow/Brown
Right pos - Blue
Right neg - Blue/Brown
Wiring to/from the fader:
Coming in:
Left pos - Yellow
Left neg - Yellow/Brown
Right pos - Blue
Right neg - Blue/Brown
Coming out:
Front Left pos - Yellow/Red
Rear Left pos - Yellow/Black
Left common - Yellow/Brown
Front Right pos - Blue/Red
Rear Right pos - Blue/Black
Right common - Blue/Brown
