Question? Re. Back of engine m10

Hi, i recently bought an 86 model 316 e30 and the cooling system is not original anymore.......may i ask, i noticed that there is a provision for water hose at the back of the engine........mine is covered already and i want to make it work..........my question:

1. What for is that?

2. Where is it connected? (My guess is that it is connected at the intake manifold)

Im from the philippines, and the temperature of my car is at 3/4 during daytiem when it is hot.......but when i turn off the aircon, it goes to 1/2.........

My radiator is converted, i use electric fan and not the clutch fan, and my thermostat is converted as well.......

I love using e car so much, my only problem is the temperature......

I have recently changed the cylinder head also.....

Need your help!!!

The provision for the water hose at the back of the engine is for the heater core.

Not necessarily. If a vehicle has a heater core, it is designed to have that in the cooling loop. Therefore it needs it to run properly. i know mine heated up a little hotter when I bypassed the heater core for like a month when my heater core line blew. So Id reconnect it.

Are you talking about the small diameter ones that go to the throttle body? Coz the one that goes to the heater core comes out of the back of the engine/cylinder head. Its medium diameter. On MINE, the output from the heater core goes back to the expansion bottle, this one is also medium diameter, it has a small diameter branchoff hose that leads to the throttle body. The second small diameter hose goes from the throttle body to the back of the thermostat housing. From the coolant expansion bottle, theres a small line that goes to the radiator, and from the radiator, theres 2 lines that go to the thermostat housing, and 1 that goes to the water pump. these ones are all large coolant hoses. But mine has an M20 engine, the 2.5 litre varient. the M10 is of course a 4 cylinder. And Im going to ASSUME it has a very similar coolant loop setup. The coolant loop is very complex, for some reason, I am unsure as to of why, despite the fact that Ive had that car for 2 years now.
