european, as far as i can tell. Came over in '85, imported privately. The dude's name is stamped on a plate in the door. :P can't see any modifications, as per us standards, but last check was around 190 HP @ the wheels. Can't find any other history, but i'm thinkin w/ numbers that high, something had to have been done.
All i know is that it can outrun a VT state trooper( i say that cuz statute of limitations expired. to get solid specs out here is hard, not very many dynos. Soon hopefully.

Oh man, a buddy of mine had an '84 323 HARTGE, this car was NASTY, very fast, 3 guages center console, short shift, header, cam, no cat, intake, would blow the doors of my '90 325i.. All was factory from HARTGE.. I am going to email him now and try to get pics, I almost bought it but did not have the cash at the time, DAMMIT!!!
i would not drive it or let rain touch it...it would be in an air tight bubble getting waxed with diapers..... thats a collector not a driver...dayum...i say clean the fuck out of it and park it somewhere safe...

garaging a car is the worse thing you can do to a car =(
i feel terrible for all the worlds ferraris and lambos which dont get driven, let alone driven daily.
the worlds best were meant to be enjoyed from the drivers seat, not through a glass window, never touched.
keep good care of her, wax her weekly, and drive her. she'll love you for it.

thats funny you say a bubble, there is an e30 m3 on ebay right now thats sitting in a heated bubble, it may be over now i dont know how much time it had left.
190hp at the wheels? it has to have something on it, a 325i with a chip only pushes out like 145 at the wheels, it has a bhp rating at prolly 175 but
that isnt what is actually put to the wheels
man...if there was a dyno nearby i'ld take her in and find out for sure, but it runs like a raped date. I want to find out what it's truly got, but i don't think there is a long enough road.
