Power Steering Fluid Leak--Please help

Hey guys, My power steering fluid began leaking a week ago all of a sudden. It's to the point now that I have to refill it every day to keep it from going empty...no spots on the driveway so I know it's leaking while it's in use. Does anyone have any ideas on how much something like this will cost to fix?? p.s. I've tried a recommended fluid to stop leaks (knowing full well this probably would not work) and all it did is slow the leak. Any ideas guys??? This car has been very well taken care of from day one, looks and sounds like new...this is the only problem right now.

It could be several things: hoses (there are 3), pump or rack. I'd bet it is most likely the high pressure line.
With that many miles, I'd consider replacing everything, if you can afford it. I recently did that and none of it was too hard. Several online stores have the rebuilt parts and new hoses. Sending the cores back was a bit of a hassle.

it's most likely your steering rack thats leaking, and the reason why it isnt dripping on the ground is that all the fluid is going into one or both of the boots over the steering rack and tie rods and filling up like a water balloon. you will need to replace your entire steering rack. you can buy seal kits or rebuild kits, but they are not a easy job and you most likely wish you just paid a few hundred for a new steering rack. you can buy rebuilt factory steering racks from Ireland Engineering ( www.bmw2002.com ) for around $280 and from meridian auto parts
