I have installed the Pertronix systems on Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Porsche, Fiat, VW and BMW.
The system and parts have worked well.
The question is; why are you installing it?
It will give a hotter spark, if the spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap are good, if they are marginal or bad, it will finish off the sub standard parts in record time.
If you are looking for more power and better performance:
#1. Full tune-up = new spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap.
#2. Clean the throttle body and plate.
#3. Replace the intake manifold injector seal rings.
#4. Check injector spray pattern.
#5. Replace the OEM air filter every 3000 miles, regardless of how it looks.
#6. Check for vacuum leaks and repair or replace as needed.
#7. Check for brake caliper drag, rebuild or replace as needed.
#8. Check all wheel bearings for slop or rough spots in rotation, and adjust or replace as needed
#9. Check tires for shifted belts, uneven wear, bent rims and correct air pressure, further diagnosis may be needed.
#10. Check engine and transmission mounts for cracking, oil saturation = marshmallow feel or total separation, replace as needed.
#11. Do a compression test and cylinder leak down test, post the results.
#12. Check fuel pump pressure.
#13. Use only synthetic oil in the engine.
I will stop here; the list of things that can have an effect on performance is huge
