i really dont kno if they make a chipset for your car...but work on getting that air filter and do internal engine shit. it will make ur car way fast. invest in a good brake kit while u have the money also. try ebc brake pads, they r good.
haha... way to be vauge? Hmm, my advice. if you're going to get the intake, you may as well get the headers for your car. Either get them custom made - or you could order them from Bav-auto (richman website...@_@), Ireland Engineering (good products!), or turnermotorsports.com. Also, a few guys distributing for IE just opened up a page at seambmw.com, they don't have the engine upgrades page up yet but I'm sure they're working on it. You may check them out as well.
Short of headers and your plan for intake, I'd say you could get a slightly more aggressive cam, make sure to replace the springs while you're at that (valvetrain.) and the valves as well. Other bolt ons you could get... well, I'd advise getting a 4 core aluminum radiator and then hooking up a twin electric fan setup. That'll free up some power from your engine. I've had a friend advise an electric water pump setup, but you'd have to change thermostats in the winter and shiz... Uhhh... lets see. You could... I guess get a dyno-tuned mapping to increase your fuel flow and all that to optimize horsepower. Thats not too bad. Not really a bolt on, but I'll bet your local speed shop could do it pretty easy. Anyhow, I'm out of ideas. haha. Bolt ons seem kind of limited in general... @_@
actually - why not skip bolt-ons. save your pennies. Get like 2300 dollars and go to www.seambmw.com, check out their 3 litre stroker kit. Save a little more money to get your cylinders bored a little bit, get a new cam, upgrade intake and exhaust, remap your fuel. You'll have an evil ass car.
I was talking to one of their team engineers and he said they're using that stroker kit on one of their cars now and its making like 285 horsepower. I seem to recal that much anyhow. I'm not sure if they meant Bhp or RWhp. so... still, a badass kit. (I also don't know if they meant before they added the other things like cam, intake, exhaust, ect.)
thats crazy, I didn't know the 320 was a 2L m10... nifty. I figured the 316 and 318 were the only l4's in the e30 family. (but he has an e21... hmm.) Anyhow. Live and learn.

So whats the direction i should go with my upgrades??? Cam??? uuuhhhhh??? :dunno like readin your convos tho funny shit!!! try and give me the most reasonable direction to go i have about 1700$ to spend. Thanks :rock
The low redline is relative...it also reaches peak torque at 2200 RPMs and it has much longer gears...so in actuallity the redline doesnt matter...can i get an AMEN? haha i preffer high revving but you dont notice a difference really in driving except in the "E" the spedo goes up faster than the rpms haha :rock anywho there my 2 cents
First its a 1982. That means its not an e30 but an e21. Now im not an expert in e21s but that should be the carbourated engine, not fuel injected with a "chip".
Please take my advise slvr E30, when i say, shut up and learn first, talk later.
In which that case buy a larger carb, perhaps a 7-800 cfm one, that should well cover your smaller engine. As for your engine... if it is carbourated theres a lot more tuning than buying parts that can be done. Take it to a decent engine mechanic, preferably an american one instead of a import mechanic. They will know a shitload more about carbs than import mechanics do.
Other than that id say your pretty much done engine wise. Put about $400 into the suspension, that will really change the car. Bilstien tourings run about $350 i believe.
