Hi
I whant to give more power to my 325IX 1989 but before buy i have some question to people that have modificate his bmw.
1: I whant to put a camshaft, i know that shricks cam are the better but very $$ did you know place to buy aftermarker cam, or other cam that are cheapless but have a good performance upgrade. ( i know that bwm2002.com rebuilt original camshaft forbetter perfoamcne.. does is good?)
2: I need to upgrade my exhaust if i whant to have better performance with the camshaft. But does i need to change all the exhaust line or just the cat back and the headers will do the job?
3: If i can use my orgininal line, does it will fit on a supersprint or ansa catback? (same input size)
4: What is the original size of the double exhaust?
5: Does its true that i need to buy a reel exhaust for bmw or go buy a standart performance catback with a Y can do the same job?
Finally, what better compagny or web page to buy for a good $$/performance that can ship to quebec city. (used or new)
Thx a lot for information
Note: My car have a conforti chip***

1, don't buy a regrinded stock cam. schrick or bmp would be the way to go. bmp has a decent selection of cams.
2, start from the back and work your way foward with the exhaust. if you plan on headers, then first you'll need the catback, and a better cat. i run a custom 3" from about 2 feet before the stock cat.
3, i'm not sure
4, 1.75"
5, you can buy a custom fit exhaust, more money then its worth imo, or get a custom one fabbed. you could get a custom exhaust from the headers back for the price of a premade catback.
bavarianautosport.com also sells parts for your car.

why no regrind? i was talking to a guy who grinds regrinds and ones froms a solid core, he likes the regrinds of the euro cams more because they are made of a harder metal then all the aftermarket cams which means they wont break or wear out as quickly so as far as i can see if you get a competant guy with the right profile there hsould be no downsides. fortunatly i know an extreemly compentant guy with an awsome profile and iv been running these cams for 1 month and a half and they're the best thing that ever happend to the car.

you want chill hardened billets, which is what you'll get with most decent companies. i would personally have a cam ground from a blank rather then a reground stocker. after all the stocker starts life out as a chill hardened billet blank.

yeah but the properties of the cams are different. the stock bmw ones are harder then any aftermarket cam you can buy i guess its all in prefrence that and buying from big name you dont have to worry about finding somone reliable... fortunatly i found reliable and my car is still way way way way under air care limits

SO what i understand is take a shrick cam with a ireland ingenering header and a costum exhaust, not important to spant money on a supersprint catback.
IIF somebody have or know who have performance cam and headers for very grood price, used if nessesary...
Thx all
