Park Lights

I have a 2002 325ix. When the lights are on, the ignition switch controls the headlights and they go off when the ignition is shut off--good. However, the park lights stay on!! terrible engineering
Has anyone had this fixed?

For some reason, that's the way they are set up.

Seems like terrible engineering for a BMW!!
Anyone know how to correct it. I have had to jump start my car 4 times and I've only owned it two months. My 2002 chevy malibu had all automatic lights. Got spoiled.

I know it's annoying, I think it's done that way in case of a sudden need to pull off high speed motor ways. Key switch turning the headlights off to save battery leaves the car still lit for passing drivers.

I can see that, but there is a separate light switch setting for that.I'd really like to know if there is a way to make them go off auitomatically when the ignition is turned off.

I would check for electric load issues, but having the park lights connected to the headlight relay seems possible enough.
