ok, i was driving today and my oil service light came on... but the thing is that i changed my oil about 1000 miles ago... I didnt use Synthetics but i did use some Seafoam and Lucas. I did look into the haynes manual and it said something about "Service Light Resetting" but i didnt want to have a problem and then just reset it... Is there a potential problem or is it ok and just need to reset the service lights? Also if that is the case, the book also mentioned that there was an aftermarket part to do that for me... where can i get it?

yea the oil service light is just on a timer, either you didn't reset the light or the place that changed your oil didn't reset it. There's nothing wrong, it just needs to be reset.
You can buy a reset tool from bavatuo.com for around $70 or you can make one for less then $10. I don't know how to make one but I've seen the "how to" on here somewhere. Try a search...
oh ok, so there is no problem... just wanted to make sure... $70??? I think ill just stick to making my own thankyou lol... I changed my own oil and wasnt even aware of that... well thats good to know theres nothing wrong atleast.
Thanks A Bunch

Turn the ignition key on take a jumper wire and bridge terminal 1 and 7 for about 8-10 sec. And it'll reset, unless your service board and/or batteries are FUBAR.
It's kinda small, I'm going to try to enlarge it.... But you'll get the point.
try the reset trick for the service light... its on a timer for you to automaticly just take in your car to he dealer to avoid any problems and see how your car is aging... ethier you or the service station didnt reset it when you changed your oil, so just use the cheap trick and itll get you through till you need it again...
