oil light on 87 325

i have an 87 325. my engine oil light just came on(the light above the rear view mirror.) usually when this light goes on it means that i am a quart low, so would put a quart in and the light would turn off. this time i put 1 quart in and the light is still on, even after i turn the car off. could it be a bad fuse or a relay. why wont the light go offf? how can i get it to go off? thanx in advance. viali8

First I would double check the level instead of just putting oil in it. If the level is ok check the wires and connector for the level sending unit on the left side of the oil pan. Look to see if a wire is broken or if the sending unit became unpluged. If everything on the outside looks ok, the sending unit itself may have gone bad.

my active check control panel doesn't work at all. Fuses seem fine....what else could it be?
