OBC Doesn't register speed or MPG.

I just bought a 1991 325i convertible.
The car is in excellent condition but there are two things bothering me.

The on-board computer (OBC) display is bright and everything works except the functions dealing with speed, distance, and fuel consumption.

All the gauges on my dash work fine. I believe it's the moto-meter version as it doesn't have the stop pins for the gauges.

Any ideas of why only these functions don't register? It either shows "blank" by displaying ---- or 0.0.

The second problem is my key doesn't lock or unlock the glove box, and since it's a convertible, this is a huge inconvenience. Is it possible to reset the tumbler to match my key. I really don't want to carry two keys if I can help it.

Any suggestions, tips or advice will be greatly appreciated.

yeah. you need to find a good locksmith to rekey the tumblers to your main key

if your speedo works but your OBC doesn't... it's most likely the OBC unit itself or a connector to it that is faulty.

a locksmith should be able to re-key the lock for u. in Cali(at least here where i am at, the average price for that job is about $35).- Or u can just have a key made for around $25.- your choice
