not a good buy? 1988 BMW 325i E30 convertable

Hi,
I'm buying another car and I'm looking at this 1988 BMW 325i E30 sedan convertable. I've never had a bmw before and don't know much about them, so I'm wondering on the general reliability of this model, how they are maintenence wise and if this sounds an okay deal. I'm not a car person in the proper sense but I like something fun to drive. Reliability is big for me as I'd be using it as an everyday car with the occasional 4 hour plus trip. The car is mechanically sound in good nic and ready to go but has 151, 280 miles on it- I've never had problems with this kind of mileage on the volvos I use (abuse) but I'm guessing these cars may be a whole different kettle of fish.
They are asking $4600 USD (btw we are in australia so not sure on the availability here and if that has an effect) but I reckon they'd come down.
opinions anyone?

I drive an '89 325i vert....I bought her with 126,000 miles and now she has just over 160,000.

Never had any real problems...the only time she left me stranded was when her alternator went bad. $150 and a quick fix.

e30's are tanks that will run forever if you take care of them. You can do most if not all the work yourself (even if you have little experience like me)

I bet you can get it for a lot cheaper...
