non running e30 engine???

fixed my ignition.
car will turn over but not run.
i can spray starter fluid into the intake and it will start, run, sputter and die.
i checked fuel lines and have fuel upto the motor& obviously i have spark.
any idea why its not running on its own regularly???
fix one thing and 5 more things break
car is a 1990 bmw 325i 6cyl 5 speed e30

How did you check for fuel? Did you actually use a fuel pressure gauge? If you did then maybe this is a IAC problem or MAF problem. Have you checked these components to see if they are working probpery?

FYI Here are your fuel pressure specs.
Fuel Pressure [1] 43 psi.

Fuel Pressure Regulator Operating Range 40 - 47 psi.

Fuel Pump Delivery Rate 30 oz. within 30 sec.

Fuel Pump Residual Pressure [2] Approx. 15 psi.

havent used the guage on the fuel lines yet
(gotta go buy one tomorrow)
& it run fine before i replaced the battery why i was thinking it wouldnt be the MAF or the IAC
(had the stock radio ripped out of it before i got it & the guy had one rigged up)
i was thinking possible "anti-theft" that was run from the computer to the radio
shutting something down where the power was removed from it???

When ever I have a no start condition I go through certain steps. Basic steps. 1 Battery. You said you replaced it with a new one. 2. Connections make sure all electrical connections are nice and tight. 3. Crank or no crank.....(actually this should have been first) what kind of no start it is will determine if it could possibly be a switch or starter relay. 3. If its not the any of the above then you move on to fuel.........OH SNAP! DING DING. You said you use starter fluid. Now one you normal use starter fluid on carbon engines. And two....think about this. Why does someone use starter fluid? What does starter fluid replace?............ when you find that answer why it starts with starter fluid you will have a starting point to figure out your problem. I don't think its the anti-theft because.I would think it would recognize your key when put inbthe ignition.......but I have seen stranger things. Maybe your key is worn down and the computer doesn't recognize it.....but im not familiar with your car so...there you have it.

i cleaned both sensors with electrical contact cleaner & still nothing
ordered a fuel pressure checker also
(advance auto parts didnt have it & had to order it? wtf? )
any other ideas?
