Help! Today when I started my car it made an awful squeal/grind sound in park. Shifted to reverse and it went away. Shifted through neutral to drive, and the sound was there in neutral but again gone in drive. Drove to my destination, and it made the same horrible noise in park again.

I had been parked at about a 10-degree nose-up attitude on my driveway but the car only sat a few minutes that way. And it's sat that way for a week with no problems.

Fluid level is fine and the fluid looks good. When I started the car up again about an hour later it was fine, and I haven't heard the noise since. What gives?

The noise came from the front of the car. If it had occured in drive I would think it was a belt slipping as the engine loaded up, but this was only in park and neutral.
