I drive a BMW 320d efficient dynamics about 3.5 years old having done 60K miles.
When the car moves from a stationary position or is at a very low speed (max 20 mph) an occasional sound seems to be coming from engine on acceleration. For eg, on moving from the traffic lights. Sound is very low and can only be heard when the radio is off. It is not a usual engine noise as I can clearly differentiate it when it happens. Until now I have only heard it in 1st and 2nd gear and usually around the biting point. However, it has also been heard during acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear when the clutch is not pressed.
Only happens after I have driven the car for 15-20 minutes and is occasional. According to the car computer oil level, breaks etc are fine.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
