Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows the Torque specifications for the thermostate housing bolts for a 1988 325i converable.
And I saw discussions on the post board about platinum borsh plugs...my suggestion is don't, i used them and had so much trouble with them and I would never buy them again. Also I gap what the book says at .028 but I see where people on the post use at 38, does it make much difference?
But what i really need is the torque specs. on the Thermostate Housing bolts if anyone knows.
Also i have some white smoke coming from the exhaust and i hope its not what i think it is, is there any suggestions out there about that? My Baby has 190,000 miles on it and i really want to save her, I'm sure you guys out there love your Beemers and know what I mean.

As far as Bosch Platinum plugs, I use them in everything I have and love them!

Hi Dave, found the torque specs, 80 in-lbs. for the thermostat housing bolts but thanks anyhow, did it yesterday but they sent me an 80 degree thermostat instead of a 75 which i ordered and it did make a difference in the temp, so I have to redo it.
on the plantinum spark plugs I'm sorry but i didn't make myself clear, I forgot to mention that i was talking about the ones that have 4 sparks and it was a nightmare for my baby.
you dont need torque specs for those bolts but im glad you found them. A 1/4 drive air ratchet has plenty of torque. I also hate bosch platinums, never been good to me
