I ordered my lowering springs from BMP.
It lowered the car about 2in.
I think they cost about $250.
And by the way

Welcome to bmw-forums!

if you are just going for looks, the h&r cup kit will give you a perfect drop for a 87, and it comes with new shocks aswell. they go for around $550-600.

for budget, comfort, and best damn performance go with Eibach Sportlines and bilstein sports....HEAVEN!!!

Eibach Sportlines: $230
Bilstein Sports: $440

comfortable but will still tear it up when you need it $0.02

BTW: i am VERY Anti H&R cup kit...bought it once...complete waste of my money they feel mushy almost worse than before...$0.02

ohh and most importantly...dont lower the car unless you are getting shocks designed for lowered cars at the same time its the worst thing ever $0.02

you owe me $0.06 but since you are new i will let it slide :P

If you are looking for something non-expensive go with the bav. auto springs. They lower about 1.25 in. (enough to look sporty but not so low that you tear up your car over every bump). For in-expensive shocks i would suggest KYBs. Ive never had a bad experience with them. You can get both for under 300 bucks. Im sure you dont want a race car ride so you dont need to spend a fortune on suspension on your every day car. here's a pic of my car with bav. auto springs

are you planning on doing this yourself.

i just replaced my front strut and its really easy if you have the right tools.

you only need a regular metric socket set,
one little allen wrench
and a 5 foot breaker bar for the control arm.

i can send pics on how it was done in less than 3 hours.

Have to agree with "BMDubya" No cheap Cup Kits! Get the whole package...dont for get the Camber Kits! To do it right you'll probably spent close to $1000.00 whithout upgrading the SwayBars.

Good Luck and......

ok, I'm going to add to the mix here. I'd like a lowered suspension myself, but what about swaybars and all that? I'm considering auto-crossing and would like something to cut down on body roll. Also, what's a good recommended rim/tire size? I was considering 16s or maybe 17s x 7" wide. Is it possible to go wider? Yet another question, since I'm considering a 325i 4 door, does anyone make any body kits? I'm not talking ricer style, just something with side skirts and such, maybe the M3 look.
