i have a '88 325i w/ the 4-100mm lug pattern. i found some nice aftermarket wheels that also have a 4-100mm pattern but i'm not sure if they'll fit. does the same pattern definitely mean that they will fit? please help me out!
you need to have the proper offset, which without spacers will elliminate the majority of wheels you come across in 4x100. what is the width of the wheel you are considering?
the wheels that i'm considering are 14x6, 4-100mm. Good looking wheels at a great price so i'm hoping they'll fit...i think they come w/ spacers...will that allow me to put them on?
it depends. on a 6" wheel you dont have to be as exact on offset, but you still need to be in the range of 22-30mm, high 20's being ideal. can you give me the offset of the wheels your looking to buy (et??) and the size (mm) of the spacer.
a 1/4 inch is 6.35mm which would bring your net offset down to 31.65. so they will deffinately fit, as long as the center bore of the wheel is 57.1mm or larger, however, if the center bore is too much larger you will need hub centering rings to prevent steering wheel shimmy and vibration.

every wheel has a certain offset that's usually cast on the wheel somewhere, if the offset is 30 it will most likely read et30. wider rims wont give you better performance, but wider tires will give you better grip off the line.
