I wore out the valve springs with all the shit i did the the motor, that i wasn't supposed to, and want to know which would be the best ones to get. Will the springs out of a i block fit on my e, or is there any others that will fit and handle higher rpms the the e spings.
do i need different rocker arms and shit too. or just the springs

whats your budget looking like? cause you could get new stiffer springs from a local performance shop. and are you sure it is your springs you need to replace? also you can regrind your cam and you dont need to change your computer, it would be ideal to get the most performance out of it but it will notice a big increase even without reprograming.

just go buy stiffer valve springs. that way your valves don't float, by the sounds of things you took of the rev limitter, and are planning on reving the crap out of this thing? or is that just me?

you could go to the local engine building place and ask them what you should do, they prolly can get you some stiff springs, orwhatever suites your needs. good luck to ya

i can do all the work myself, this car has only seen a shop to be painted. The valve are floating bad, at abour 4300 rpms it used to pull right up to the limiter, but not anymore. I got the rpms up 5300 with a chip, and racing it around all summer, didn't take long to wear out the old vavle spring. I was just gonna put spings off the 2.5L because they are the double spring made to rev up high, but as ling as that is all i need to do the job, then thats all i need to know

i have no idea if 2.5 springs would work thats why i said go ASK the engine place, i do all my own work also, but im not having any valve floating problems, maybe you have a stickey valve, or lifter?

This really doesnt have anything to do with the springs but... If your going to be rebuilding your head you might consider swapping to a euro 323i head as it bolts directly to the 2.7L eta block and boosts compression making about 180 HP.
take in mind that you will need some other parts asociated with the i head such as intake manifold etc.. if i owned an eta i would seriously consider this setup. Its basically like building a 327i.
