New Tires for E30

It's time for new tires for my '87 325i. I can't afford to replace the rims so I'm sticking with 14" tires. I've done a little research and found dozens of brands and types of tires to choose from. Any reccommendations? I've seen new 325i's equipped with Continental tires. But everybody I talk to has their own preference.

I need all-season tires that combine handling and performance with better gas mileage for long drives.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought BFGoodrich Traction T/As for my iS from Tire Rack for $58 a piece. They're rated really good on the site, but I haven't gotten them yet so I don't know for myself.

I just put a set of the Traction T/As on my daily driver a 1998 Neon Expresso and they are great. I use size 195-60/HR14 and have put just about 3,000 miles on them (cross country and local driving), quiet and very good in the rain. I paid $65.00 each at COSTCO and that includes: lifetime balancing, lifetime rotation, road hazard warranty,lifteime flat repair, taxes, tire disposal fee.

I just bought the BFG traction T/As, These are great tires, I bought them from Tire rack, I recomend these tires for all BMWs,
I tried cheap tires, They did not work, Alot of vibration, And did not handle good

The Bridgestone Potenza RE950 come in 195/65/14 last I checked, solid tire.

I just bought Goodyear Regatta 2's just two days ago, moderately priced, I'm satified with these tires. very quiet, no vibrations, handling is precise. traction is ok. Noise levels are suberb, and they supposedly last for 75k. (other people have confirmed this). Surprisingly enough, braking has increase immensely with these tires.
