I'm getting complete 5 speed conversion parts for my automatic soon (used). What new parts could anybody recomend I get so nothing rattles, shakes, or squeeks.

Back on topic though I would say it is okay to go with a used transmission as the manual in the E30 is pretty bulletproof. As far as clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing I would oviously go new. Be very careful when it comes to the flywheel though, a used one can be resurfaced and even lightened relatively cheaply however if it is not done perfectly you will get shaky clutch engagement (ask me how i know). If you are planing to do the work yourself a clutch alignment tool is also an absolute must.
Sweet. My clutch and pressure plate are fairly new. I got a new pilot bearing, throw out bearing, mounts, and of course the alightment tool. And also new pressure plate bolts (I have bad luck with allen bolts).
I got the pedals (pain in the ass) and the new reservior on today. As of now I have a tweener car with an Auto shifter and clutch pedal :-)

I was reading through Roundel today and saw an advert for a stainless steel clutch line. (kinda like the SS brake lines, but for your clutch I guess) I don't know if this is a viable option for E30's, I just thought it was cool, and worth mentioning.
... allright, found the ad. Korman, $55, and they do have an E30 application.

A slight problem.... I have an 86 325es with Motronic 1.0, my 5 speed i bought is from an 89 325i, with motronic 1.3. I had 2 sensors on my transmission, a speed sensor and a refrence sensor. The new tranny dosent have them, and I need to drill some. And of course, the new flywheel dosent have a notch on the outside either. It dosent even look like theres room to have one. Could i just get someone to weld a little notch on there and drill some holes? I dont know if there is any balance to the flywheel or not if that little notch will throw it off.

So did you have to get the sensors installed in the tranny and modify the flywheel, or what?
I already have a manual, but it might be a good idea to tell the other squishyshifters what the process entails!
