If you have the money for a custom exhaust system.. why dont you put your money in a good respectable company.. such as Borla.. Remus.. look around the big name BMW tuners.. they should be able to point you in the right direction..

You make it sound like a custom exhaust costs more than a cat-back. It's much much cheaper. Since when is Magnaflow not a good company?

Be aware that when you buya muffle that you get one that has two inlets in unless you wnat to have a custom exhaust built. I had to do that. I got a cheap Ractive muffler (mostly for the bling factor) and it only had a sinlge pipe inlet so I had to have a custom pipe made from the cat so that I could run it. If you can find one that is already two inlets it'll save you a lot of money. I'd recommend that you get one from Bav' because this situation is already taken in to consideration.

Might I suggest The scorpion or the triflow from Bavauto... Mind you might have to get a chip afterward so you BIMMER can handle the less backpressure but both of those are high quality and come highly recomended by me... after all BMW dose not = Ricer pice of poop civic.
for the best price and quality, the IE exhausts are seriously unbeatable. witht heir 304 stainless steal you cant go wrong. plus you get more piping because it isnt just a muffler. And i know that it will sound cleaner and meaner then any just normal muffler.
with good harmonics at an idle to when you have the gas on, im sure that the IE catback is awesome.

no one noticed that his e30 doesn't have dual exhaust fo sheazy? its the m42 motor or whatever. Four cylinder. So I guess it might have two pipes... but I bet its only one. :P

my advice...save up for a real exhaust... i didnt and when i heard an IE exhaust i creamed....and then i proceeded to ghead but i dunno i would prolly pay the extra money for the Bav auto exhaust...the TriFlow is beautiful and sounds equally as hot
