Need to pull out factory radio - BMW Forum -

3-Series (E21, E30) Chat relating to the BMW 3-Series from 1975-1983 and 1984-1991 line. Specific models: BMW 315, BMW 316, BMW 318, BMW 318i, BMW 320/4, BMW 320i, BMW 320/6, BMW 323i, BMW 320i. E30 Family models include: BMW 325e, BMW 325i, BMW 325is, BMW 325ix.

Hey guys when I bought this car it came with a little key and a code, I've heard this is what I'll need but does anyone know a thread that maybe shows pictures/gives directions on removing the factory radio???

If you want to imput the code, first you need to turn the key to the "accessories" position (the very first click, where the radio will come on as well as the OBC backlight). Then turn the radio on, and don't touch it for an hour. Not 53 min, an hour.

Then just imput your code on the radio preset buttons. If you hear a beep before you get to the last digit, stop immediately and start over. You have three tries before the radio assumes you're guessing and locks up again.

Supposably, if you remove all power to the radio, that will also enable you to enter you're code. But it didn't work for me, I had to use the key-in-ignition fur' an hour method.
