i'm looking at buying a 1990 bmw 325 on a G plate but it has a light permantly on on the instrument panel of the dash board, i just need to find out what it is, means and how much it will set me back to get sorted!

the light is a hollow circle with three kind of squares either side of the circle. hope this makes sense. if anyone needs to see it in order to know, i can email them an example

hope someone can help me urgently as i'm looking at the car tonight

First off

Secondly, It sounds like your brake pad indicator light. Bimmers have on sensor for the front brake pads and one for the rear. It lights up when your pads are about to gouge your rotors.

If the previous owner says it's permanant, then he either needs new brakes or somehow screwed up a previous pad installation and either damaged the sensor wiring, or did not install a new sensor.

Hope that helps.

Need a new sig...
