Need Help Picking Right Spark Plug Wires for 83 320i

Hi All,

I'm not so much a car enthusiast as an old broad who bought a Bimmer cuz the price was right. I love my car, but have a herd of old llamas to support, so my car is transportation only and I try to keep it running on a shoestring budget. (Hay prices are killer this winter.)

I need new spark plug wires and my adult son will put them in. I found some cheap online at 1983 BMW 320i Spark Plug Wire Set - Engine Electrical - Bosch, PVL - PartsGeek

He thinks I should get the Bosch Part Number: W0133-1617730 with the shorter wire. Does that seem right to those of you that know about these cars?

There's a picture of my car at My New Baby! if that helps. Sadly it doesn't look that good anymore.

Yes, those plugs will be fine for your 320i, They are basically Bosch OEM replacements so they will serve you well. I don't know when your spark plugs were last replaced but assuming its been awhile it might not be a bad idea to replace them at the same time. Just my $.02

plus. wasn't 1983 the last year of the 320i? I think it was....the 320i was not one of BMWs' finest moments.....

When I said plug I meant plug wire. Whoops. I need to pay attention more often.

Thanks! My son replaced the plugs last Saturday, but the local A-1 Auto wanted $70 for the wires, so the guys at work suggested looking online for a cheaper set. And I knew you meant the plug wires.

I would say that $70 would be about right for OEM wires...

seems odd that the plug wires are suspect after a spark plug replacement was done....what is the problem with the engine?
