NEED HELP on 86 325es

my car won't run right. it starts but u have to give it allot of gas. it won't idle. it putters and thin dyes... i can git it to move but i cant git it out of 3rd gear. i checked the spark plugs. and all the fuel systems. in jesters, filter, pump, exs.. but its all fine.. i dont know what it cold be.. ooo yyaa it jest started on the highway.. i was going 70 thin the power was gone. and i cold not git it to go past 35. soo yaa pleas help... ty

Are you blowing a lot of black smoke out the tail pipe?

no.. but my friend said it mite be the cat is clogged up..

Sounds about right. Take out your O2 sensor then start it up, it'll be loud, but at least you'll confirm it.

no i did it and it still does not work. so im out off ideas .

Have your valves been adjusted? Also check your fuel pressure, you have two fuel pumps, if one fails it can cause your problem.
