I recently aquired a 325Ic 1989 one day it just quit while I driving it. Now ghead the car will not start. I have replaced the coil, and the crank position sensor because they did not ohm out correctly. The car had a security system in it that was not installed cleanly at all so I have removed it. I have power to the coil and the injectors. The injectors all ohm out good but they all show grounded when I turn on the key. I hooked a light to the ground side of the injectors and when I turn the engine over I see no flash. I have fuel presure. I get no spark when I check it but if I crank the engine every once in awhile it will fire but never starts. There are no fault codes (I bought a fault code reader) . How do you tell if the DME is good or not. Or is there something else I'm missing I really don't want to buy a new DME if it not needed. ghead

How about the coil to keep it simple? I have a '90 325i and it would cut out on occasion , then it finally just would not start... I never suspected coil because from past experience I learned that coil either work or not, but this time was intermitent... Odd.. Either way worth a shot, if no, I would say perhaps ECU due to hacked alarm system.. Good luck
