(Sorry if this is off-topic )

I just bought a '91 325i that has been used and had the stereo replaced, and possibly more, I don't know.

On the dash there is a red LED to the right of a little black circle with a dot in the middle.

All I can think of is it used to be part of some remote that was left behind when the stereo was replaced.

Any ideas?

The black circle is the microphone for an alarm, it detects when the glass is broken. The red LED is also for the alarm, it will blink when the alarm is armed.
