My Dam A/c Always Comes On When I Start The Car.

I just bought a 1999 323i with only 33k miles, it looks, runs, and feels like a new car. the only thing i cant get is how the A/C comes on every time i start the car. i took the auto off and i turn the A/C off before i turn off the car, and when i start the car again the A/C comes on, in fact it always comes on when i start the car. Its driving me nuts, so i take it to a BMW dealer and they tell me thats the way it is. Im like you gotta be shitting me. you see ive never come across a car that turns the a/C on when the car starts. so i need some knowledge, please does any one have a 1999 323i that does the same thing?

My e39 does the same thing, just turn off the compressor (the snowflake) so the actual A/C doesn't come on everytime, just the fan. It is actually bad for the compressor to be turned on and off, but if you turn off the snowflake it will stay off...for me atleast. But just remember it isn't good for it to have it go on and off.

My 1985 325 e won't start. We have replaced gas pump etc. The mechanic said it's not firing but can't find how to fix it. he thinks it's electrical. Any help??????
