My daughter just got in from college with her '86 325es and I noticed the brakes work but go almost all the way to the floor. The master cylinder is full and no leaks. They don't get harder if I pump them. The vacuum booster is getting vacuum and I don't hear any leaking but not sure. I'm wondering if it's the master brake cylinder or possibly the vacuum booster? Does anyone have ideas? Much thanks!

If they respond to pumping the issue is air in the lines.

You need to bleed your brakes.

Later,

I can try bleeding the brakes but I think I mentioned that the brakes do not get better when pumping.
